近年、美瑛町では国内外問わず観光客のマナーの悪さが問題になっています。

Over the years, Biei has trouble tourists with their bad behaviours.

美瑛町も観光マナーをホームページに掲載して周知をしたり、景観パトロールのボランティアの方々に監視活動をお願いしたり、

美瑛に来られる方々のマナー向上に向けて努力しています。

Of course town councils are working to solve these problems. Make rules and inform tourists, volunteers drive around Biei and watch them.

ですがその努力もむなしくマナーは一向に改善されず、今年も多くの方が畑に侵入している場面を目撃しました。

However, these actions and efforts do not go well, tourists step into private property as usual and I have seen that time and time.

さて、皆さんが畑に入ってしまった場合、畑はどうなってしまうのでしょうか？

Now, when you step into vegetation area, what will it be happen?

刈り取りの終わった麦畑。ここはマイルドセブンの丘です。数週間前までは小麦が一面に広がっていました。

This is a picture of Mild Seven hill, here was already cropped. Just few weeks ago, wheats glittered like Midas touch.?

↑観光客がよく入っていた辺りの麦は踏み潰されています。

↑The area people often stepped is totally ruined.

↑手前の左側と右側で麦の様子が違うのがお分かりいただけるでしょうか？

↑Can you see the difference between left side and right side?

Left side grew normally and straws stand up, right side is stepped by people and straws laid down.

これが観光客が畑に入ったことにより起きたものです。

This is the result of tourists intrude into farm.

本来ならばこの部分にも麦があり、それを農家の方が収穫して収入を得ていたはずです。

There were supposed to be healthy vegetation like other area, the farmer could crop them and earn money.

ですが、知ってか知らずか、観光客の方々が麦を踏み荒らし農家の方の大事な収入を奪ってしまったのです。

However, sadly, not only tourists intruded into farmers workplace but took the money!

それはあなたかもしれません。

It may be you.

畑に入っていた方とお話をしたことがあります。

I talked people who entered farm. He said,

「看板がなかったのでどこまで入っていいかわからなかった」

“There was no sign board so I couldn’t figure out where is the border”

「綺麗な場所だったのでつい入ってしまった」

“Scenery was very beautiful so just stepped a bit”

「柵がないので入っていいところだと思った」

“There was no fences so I thought here was a park”

この様なお話をされていました。

Like these.

確かに、僕も柵がなかったり看板がないところは入っていいどうか美瑛町外から来た人にはわからないだろうなぁ、と思っています。

I can understand what you think. It is sometimes difficult to figure out where is public and where is private.

基本的に、舗装路はOK、未舗装路や土がむき出しの部分はアウトです。一歩でも入れば軽犯罪法の処罰の対象です。

Basically, tarmac is public. Gravel or unpaved path are private. If you get in even one step, you will be charged and fined.

美瑛の丘は景色が良い以外はその他の地域と同じ農村であり普通の畑です。テーマパークではありません。

Biei town is as same as other villages except of their beautiful and picturesque scenery.

Biei is NOT theme park!

その点を理解した上で、美瑛を楽しく観光しましょう。
